Reflexive Pronouns

These are pronouns that end in -self or -selves indicating that the subject acts upon itself. Roger cut himself with the paring knife. They treated themselves to some cookies.

One of the best places to hear an improper use of a reflexive pronoun is at a sporting event. Athletes don’t like to use the word “me.” He passed the puck to myself and I took a shot on net. Correction: He passed the puck to me and I took a shot on net.
